Man rescued from Dry Creek cave

The Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad rescued a Coffee County man from a cave in the Dry Creek area Sunday morning.


The man was reportedly spelunking with a group deep inside Indian Grave Point Cave off Frazier Hollow Road when was trapped in a 60-foot hole. Central dispatch was called at approximately 2:30 a.m.


According to members of the rescue squad, the man was at least a mile from the cave entrance, trapped in a 60-foot deep pit. The man reportedly had a rope, but could not pull himself out of the hole. He fell from the rope at ...
