Fire destroys four apartment units in Dowelltown


Four units in the housing projects on Circle Drive in Dowelltown were destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon. A cooking fire reportedly started the blaze, which spread quickly through the attic of the building. All the residents escaped unharmed, but most of their possessions were destroyed by flames and water damage. According to County Fire Chief Donny Green, a resident was cooking when some grease caught fire.
