Clarksville man killed after police pursuit


The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a 33-year-old Clarksville man who led police on a chase from Smithville to White County Thursday was killed in an officer involved shooting after crashing his vehicle.


The man, Michael Zennie Dial II from Clarksville, initially fled from officers in the City of Smithville when they attempted to perform a traffic stop. The chase reportedly began at about 4:30 p.m., when Dial, driving a pickup with a loaded trailer behind, refused to stop for Smithville police.
