Smithville man arrested after attacking DeKalb County deputies with knives
Jeremy Austin Scruggs, 39, of Smithville was arrested Monday, Aug. 28, for aggravated assault, and resisting arrest after brandishing two knives and charging towards deputies.
DeKalb County Sheriff’s department deputies were dispatched to Highland Avenue for a man with a knife. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Scruggs in an outbuilding and found he had two knives, one in each hand. He was given verbal commands multiple times to drop the knives, but he started to charge at officers. A Taser had to be used to stop him ...
