Payne arrested for carjacking

A man has been arrested on carjacking charges after he allegedly boosted a vehicle at a Smithville gas station earlier this year and then led officers on a high speed pursuit in the stolen truck.

The suspect, Jonathan Dustin Payne, AKA Foust, was arrested Jan. 29 in White County for theft of property over $2,500.00, burglary, and attempted carjacking, according to Smithville Police reports.

According to the warrants, Payne got into a black 2000 Toyota truck belonging to the victim which was parked at a gas pump at Kwik-N-Ezy Market. He did so without the owner’s consent ...
