County officials cook for Relay for Life

The DeKalb County elected officials recently hosted a cookout for the American Cancer Society and DeKalb County’s Relay For Life.
The officials and their staff gave of their time to make plans, prepare and serve the food. They served a wonderful meal of pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, baked potato and drink.
The food was delicious. Because of their efforts, DeKalb County’s Relay For Life event raised more than they did in 2012.  The cook out raised over $2,300.
When you see your elected officials, please take a few minutes and thank them for going the extra mile to help give more birthdays to cancer patients.
Research is the main mission of the American Cancer Society. Without research, a cure for this horrible disease will never be found, and because of research, treatments have been greatly improved.
Research is very expensive, and the American Cancer Society thanks DeKalb County for everything it does in the fight to totally eliminate cancer. The Relay For Life event raised over $64,000.
The RFL Committee and Team Captains are getting geared up for Relay 2014. If you would like to serve on the committee or form a new team, please contact Ivadell Randolph at: 615-597-5296 or 615-464-8129.
