Cowboys compete in Cleveland

The DeKalb County High School Cowboys took to the road to compete in a combined rodeo in Cleveland last weekend. The event was held at the Tri-State Exposition Center, and included approximately 200 contestants from the Tennessee High School Rodeo Association (THSRA) and the Georgia High School Rodeo Association (GHSRA).
The DeKalb Cowboys braved the frigid temperatures to compete for top honors, points, and cash prizes. Cody Hattaway won second place in the steer wrestling competition, and fifth in calf roping event on Sunday.
Shara Adcock placed third in the goat-tying competition on Saturday, first in the team roping event, and second in breakaway calf roping competition on Sunday,
The DCHS bull riders, Brandon Barnes, Victor Roller and Waylon West, came up a little short, with no qualified rides during the rodeo. La-Kota Luna did not compete during the event.
The Cowboys will take the next two weeks off, then travel to Holly Springs, MS. for rodeos on Dec. 7 and 8.
