Coalition gets 501(c)3 status

The DeKalb Coalition for the Humane Treatment of Animals has been awarded tax-free status.
David McDowell, a member of the group, which has assembled to help with the problem of abandoned and abused animals in the county, said the organization is now 501(c)3 tax-exempt.
