DeKalb County High School was the recent recipient of the TSSAA "Just Do What’s Right" award, which focuses on citizenship, sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity. The TSSAA recognizes member schools that have made the effort to remind their athletic family that there is a particular code of conduct, a particular level of expected behavior, and a way to act that is proper if one wishes to be part of an athletic contest, regardless of how they participate.

Mya Ruch recently received the "All State Team Honors" award at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville. Ruch finished fourth overall at the regional cross country meet at Sharp Springs Recreation Park in Smyrna. She ran a personal best time of 12:34 for the two-mile course.
