Saints start strong

The DeKalb Middle School Saints soccer season is showing promise as they sport an overall record of 6-3, with a 2-2 district mark.

  The Saints began their conference season by blanking Cumberland County, two-nil with goals by Johnny Hernandez and Mario Mathias.
Goalkeeper Diego Coronado stone walled Cumberland United for the rest of the game to claim the shutout. However, a late goal in the second game of their season broke the hearts of the home team as Smith County came marching in to beat the Saints 2-1 with the only DeKalb goal scored by Mathias.
