Congratulations to Kayley Caplinger and Eli Cross for their accomplishments during their high school career. We know the White Rose Award is a very special award. The Dry Creek Baptist Church family couldn’t be prouder of Hunter Robinson for his academic achievements and being selected as the 2017 DCHS Salutatorian. We wish these young people continued success.
Congratulations to our great grandson, Christopher Nuckels on his recent graduation from Florence High School, Alabama.
The constant rains and storms have set the farmers back on their hay crop and gardening. We hope for just some sunny day to give them time to work in the fields and catch up.
We were saddened to hear about our friend Geraldine Hendrixson passing. Her parents, Uncle Bill and Helen Davis lived on Dry Creek when she was born. During our high school years her late husband, Sellars Hendrixson ask if I’d get him a date with Geraldine and the rest is history. They enjoyed a happy life together. May God’s blessings be with her loved ones.
Jerald, Matt, Justin and Jordan Cripps will remember Jacob Tramel as a great golfing buddy. We are all so sad to hear of a young person’s death. Everyone please keep the family in your prayers.
We know many of you have been cleaning up fallen trees after storms. The late Lewis Fuston’s barn roof got blown back part way in the Dismal community. We heard reports of trees down everywhere. Jerald and Lisa Cripps visited Tom and Georgia Cripps on Sunday and saw many trees down in the Alexandria area. We are glad everyone is safe.
School is out and summer school has begun, so everyone have a great summer with your children. Remember to read daily to those little ones. It is important hey hear the vocabulary and expression of adults reading. Justin Potter Library has a Summer Reading Program going on so check that out too.
