We send Congratulation to the DCHS Tigerettes in their softball success this year.
In the valley many people have been sick with a stomach virus, sinus infection, coughing or allergy. We sure hope everyone gets to feeling better soon. Get well to Gail Thompson, Lisa Cripps, Jerald Cripps, and your writer. We also send out get well and comfort wishes to The Seber Family, Danny Agee, Jimmy Kimbrell, Buddy Fuson, and Mary Joines.
Have you seen the beautiful garden growing in the field below Jared and Jennifer Hendrix’s home? Half runner beans, corn, tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers are all growing nicely. Kathy and Jennifer Hendrix have worked hard to get everything planted. We pray the deer don’t find their spot. We know our neighbors Roscoe and Pauline Frazier have a good garden. They work very hard every year to harvest their goods. Jeanette France always has a good garden. It will be wonderful to have fresh vegetables soon. Good luck to the farmers that set up at the local Farmer’s Market in Smithville.
Homecoming at Dry Creek Baptist will be June 5th. We look forward to the 127th year church celebration of serving the Lord in this community. The church has been a true spiritual lighthouse for this beautiful valley, where all is welcome to worship. Special visiting minister will be Rev. Kenneth Tramel, Lebanon, and a native of the valley. Special music-songwriter and soloist, Mr. Elmo Mercer, along with his wife will bring the music. Mr. Bill Cox will be a soloist. After the service, dinner and fellowship will be provided. Come join us and bring a friend.
We are expecting to see our friends, Jerry and Brenda Parker of Murfreesboro, and other friends that attend annually.
Jeanette France and daughter, Twana Box visited Louise Frazier Wednesday afternoon. It was a joy to hear about Twana’s recent adventures with her husband, Randy, throughout Ireland. The couple will be off to Hawaii soon. We wish them safe travels.
Betty Mullican visited Louise Frazier, Jerald and Lisa Cripps on Wednesday. The group enjoyed spending time together. Betty recently lost her beloved husband, Garry, so please keep her in your prayers.
The following events are happening in June down at the church: Vacation Bible School will be June 2, 3 and 4th, and June 19th Father’s Day celebration.
Jesus . . . was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil.
Luke 4:1-2
The devil is always eager to help us live for ourselves instead of for God. Will you exchange your true identity as a son or daughter of the Lord for earthly things? Do you really want to be like Jesus? The challenges in the desert can only be overcome if we follow the words of Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
