Dense fog has moved in this Monday evening up here on the mountain. Some rain is still falling and it does look dreary outside to say the least. It’s pretty pleasant out on our patio with the temperature in the fifties.
It was a wild Super bowl wasn’t it? Glad the Patriots won 34 to 28 but I didn’t know if they could come back and win it, because at one time it was 21 to 3 and another time 28 to 9. I believe in favor of Atlanta. Perseverance usually does pay off as New England proved that.
Talked to Jimmy Womack the other day. He is a cousin to John Womack. Jimmy told me he had been a mail carrier for 37 years. Norris Harrison and Jimmy are good friends I found out after church Sunday, when I was talking to Norris.
Beverly Hubler and granddaughter Kayla visiting me last week. Also, Lynn Underwood and son Hunter stopping by.
Betty Sue Hullett of Indiana and family all doing well on Super bowl Sunday. Son, Tracy Hullett and wife Lynn and girls Joy and Baylie having a get-together with plenty of food to enjoy while watching the football game. This has become a tradition they look forward to each year.
Pastor Chris Moore’s sermon the Sunday: "Let Go of Pride." How many of us have heard that phrase "pride goes before the fall?" So true is that statement. We are all human and let’s face it, we are going to make mistakes. Put your trust in Jesus not in yourself or anyone else and humble yourself before Him. No matter what you have done, just ask Him for forgiveness and turn the matter over to Him and then let go of it. Jesus doesn’t need any help from us In His time, He will work out your problems in a way you never could have thought possible. Step out on faith in believing God and His holy word and you’ll know what I have said is true.
If you don’t know God and how great He is, ask Jesus Christ to come into your life that you might live for Him and tell others of His life-cleansing blood that covers you. Be sincere and humble yourself as a child before Him as He knows your heart. He will be the greatest miracle that ever happens to you. One day this world as we now know it will all fade away and be gone. Do not go the way of this lost world that offers you simply nothing only a burning hell that never ends, but choose to go by the way of the cross into eternity being with Jesus and all the beauty of heaven with streets of gold and a mansion that awaits you and I and no more tears or heartache will you ever suffer again.
