Many relatives and friends visited during the Mother’s Day weekend. We received many beautiful flowers: dahlia bouquets from Justin Cripps’ plants, mandevilla from Laurenceburg, several tropical plants, fuchsia, hanging dipladenia, and purple grass with wax begonias surrounding it. The patio is just beautiful with all of these flowering plants. The afternoons have been so warm I’ve been able to sit out on the ramp and enjoy all of them. We also enjoyed the wonderful meal Kathy Hendrix prepared for the family on Mother’s Day, and in the afternoon the grandchildren took their young ones for a trip to the creek. I received a card from Baby Greyson Cripps with his little footprint on it. He, along with baby Liam Frazier Hendrix, are our precious little babies. We hope everyone had a great day with their loved ones.

Last Tuesday we had a visit from our friends Louis and Christine Colombarini of Old Mill Hill. It is always good to see these fine folks and catch up on what they been doing. They brought a lovely basket of flowers. Thank you and visit again soon.

Matilda Earl brought by a black magic elephant’s ear plant from Mary’s Greenhouse. We have several pots started of the green ears, but the black ears are really beauty. It is in the house for fear the wind might be too much for the delicate leaf ears.

Ricky Hendrix and Jerald Cripps are already in the hay fields. They both reported the first cutting not to be as productive as last year’s. Jerald thought maybe it was due to the early warm weather followed by the really cold. Hopefully the second cutting will be better.

Teddy Edge and his son, Andy of Ardmore, AL visited Kenny Edge Mother’s Day weekend. They enjoyed going to church together and eating out.

We send congratulation to all the 2017 preschool, kindergarten, high school, and college graduates. The spring is always a busy time for the school system. The West School enjoyed their Play All Day activities. Thank you Kelly Pyburn and all the DWS staff for making it such a fun day for the kids.

Thank you to Justin Potter Library for the observance of Older American’s Day. We heard it was a wonderful event, enjoyed by over 150 senior citizens.

Looking ahead to Dry Creek Baptist Chruch happenings: May 21st Dessa Ray will be singing, May 28th Regnition of Veterans, June 1, 2, and 3rd will be our Vacation Bible School from 8-8:30p, and Saturday 9am-3pm, and June 4th will be our Homecoming with dinner and fellowship, everyone welcome.
