Becky Roberts did the children’s message at First Methodist last Sunday and discussed the two flags – the American and Christian. Patriotic hymns were sung during the worship service. The veterans were also recognized.
Well, school is out for the summer. However, summer school is in session.
Gas prices are up again which will make a difference in car vacations.
Have you seen the new Shirley Temple postage stamp? I was named after her and my mother was disappointed when I couldn’t sing or tap dance like she did as a child.

Last week Gail Bisgop had a four-generation celebration in Cookeville. Her recently widowed daughter Pam Roach, grandson David Nathan Roach and his wife Misty saw great granddaughters Chelsea, 5, and Brianna, 7 and Emily, 14. Emily graduated from Algood Middle School and will go to Putnam County High this fall.
