February is a busy month with Valentine Day and Presidents Day (no school).
Last Sunday was Scout Sunday and many churches involved these scouts in their worship services. Thanks to all the scout leaders, like Dr. Sherwood and Jen, who spend their time with these children.
Robin Driver, owner of CHL Contractors Inc. in Smithville, has returned home after attending the NAHB Convention in Las Vegas last week. This is the national trade show for builders from all over North America. It is attended by custom home builders and remodelers from around the world depicting new products. Over 85,000 people attended the convention. The opening ceremonies were hosted by Jay Leno plus other celebrities were present. Robin has been building custom homes on Center Hill Lake for over 20 years.

The youth at First Methodist attended their annual Warmth in winter retreat in Nashville last weekend. They report a very inspirational weekend.
Valentine Day is an old holiday originating as a Roman festival. It honors Juno, the Roman goddess and Pan, the god of nature. Folk send greetings to their loved ones with paper Valentines and candy or other gifts. It is celebrated in schools and in other countries, like England, Italy and Denmark. So Happy Valentine to all!
The Dave Ramsey course is being taught by Miranda Waggoner at First Methodist for nine weeks. To enroll in this Financial Peace course, all the church at 615-597-4961. The course is $99.
