Gunter reunion a success

Sure hope your Labor Day turned out swell. Good to celebrate it with family and friends isn’t it? Do cherish those times with your loved ones.

The “Gunter Reunion” was a good one as usual. Always too much food but rather it be that way instead of not enough. A good crowd enjoyed the entertainment provided by Clyde Nokes and his Bluegrass Band. They always do such a great job. Clyde’s son, Bill, is going through a very difficult time right now and needs all our prayers to recover from his health problems. He’s in the Murfreesboro hospital in intensive care and is not doing too good. Keep Bill and the family in your prayers.

Also Doris Beshearse’s family need your prayers in her passing. She was a wonderful Christian lady that I’ve known and loved for a long time.

Forget about raining cats and dogs as it is raining barrels of water at our house today. We’ve gotten over two inches and I know I heard Staton on Channel 5 say there would be scattered showers here and there. Nashville got four tenths rainfall so that for them was one of those scattered showers I guess Leland was talking about. Wish we could have been so lucky as we didn’t need any extra rain around here.

We have several people who we need to pray for: Houston and Martha Parker, Denise Stanton, the family of Lou Davis Higgins, the family of Ron Pedigo, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, and the people of Houston, Texas and Louisiana that have been going through a nightmare with all the flooding and the loss of their loved ones.

It’s that time again in the late summer the school kids are selling those $1 candy bars. Of course it’s the thought of helping out the kids and the school when they come around selling it and not the thought of that box of delicious treats that are making your mouth water. You know that I wouldn’t dig in one one of those candy bars as soon as the kid got out of sight don’t you? Well, you can forget that thought as I think that bite of caramel has just the melted in my mouth. Now it’s time for a second bite to see if it tastes as good as the first. Some things are just too good to pass up. These bars are going to be my Halloween stash just like last year but once again I don’t think they’ll make it until then.
