Are you relishing this – you could say – almost fall-like weather we’re having? I sure am too. The mornings and the nights are especially nice to be outside. Take advantage of it very chance you get. Seems like that good ole cup of coffee with the hazelnut creamer in it really tastes better on our patio every morning. I do have to watch out for those hummingbirds zooming past my head at ninety-miles an hour. They’re not that fast but I’m sure they are breaking the speed limit for flying.
Got to thinking about my Dad’s grapevines the other day. I don’t really know if they are still alive on the home place or not. It has been a few decades since I left home, but I’m going to check to see if some are still there. There were delicious grapes always on those vines. I would pluck off a few and pop one-at-a-time in my mouth and loved the sweetness when I bit into it. Dad had grapes in two different places. They may not be there now after all this time, but I’ll enjoy the search for them never-the-less. Some of Mon’s flowers I’ll have to check out too. Home-place memories are a whole lot better than Calgon because they take you back to a beautiful time of your life that will always mean so much to you because of the many good times with your family and memories that can’t be taken from you. I always smile when I think of my home place and how all of us lived so much of our lives there and the happiness of how we loved one another in some really tough times. We didn’t have much but we had what counted and gave reverence to God always. We were blessed with wonderful parents that were always there for us. I hope you were blessed too!
