Schools closed because of severe illness

The DeKalb schools have been closed due to the illnesses in the county. The cold weather was also a factor. The working parents had to make plans for these school children. Hopefully these days off will prevent more absentees. Get well wishes to those who are sick and those at NHC and the Webb House. Also to Peggy Hendrixson who fell and broke her hip. Happy Birthday to those celebrating the latter part of February: Lora Webb, Lois Farwell, Nathaniel Therique, Keith Blair, Toni Nolt, Paul Oliver, Kitty Thomas, Tiffany Caldwell, Doug Ward, Cynthia Page Vernon, Carly Thomas, Bill Mielke, Doyle Smith, Collin Harper, Emily Webb, Martha Moore, Martha Mielke, Zachary Poss, and Casey France.

Happy Anniversary to Jamie and Miranda Waggoner, and Mike and Missy Clendenen. Congratulations to the following teachers of the year! Todd Cantrell, Jenny Elrod, Jessica Hale, Whitney Brelje, and Jenna Caplinger. They will be recognized at the Teacher of the Year Banquet this spring.

Sympathy to the following families of Carol Leigh Huff Lewis, Hoyte Hooper, Janis Dearman Murphy, Robert Dale Bain, Ethel Lee Cassity, Cathy Ann Holmes, and Joe Payne.

Also Congratulations to Jen Sherwood who will be honored at the Ninth Annual Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award in Franklin on February 19.
