I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. In observance of Memorial Day it is traditional to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff from dawn until noon. Some people go to cemeteries and memorials to honor those who have died in military service. You will see many wreaths of flowers in red, white and blue maybe even flags put on the graves. I know I have been to the cemetery where flags were placed on the graves of all that who have served in the military. My Daddy served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and there is always a flag on his grave. I have often wondered who places the flags on the graves. It is very kind of whoever does this, and it has to take a while to visit all the graves. Thank you to whoever you may be.

I am enjoying the weather I hope it stays this way for a while although we do need a little rain. Flowers and newly planted gardens would enjoy it.

Can you believe the Jamboree is just around the corner? We will blink, and it will be here. It’s like Angie, at the office, says beginning in January….."Christmas will be here before we know it." Time certainly does fly.

The Jamboree Pageant applications are available at the Smithville Review office. Deadline is June 11, so get them picked up, completed and returned.
