It is always interesting around the Frazier household to hear the various names my children chose for their grandchildren to call them. It is exciting to be able to rename yourself again, but it can get confusing for children with multiple grandparents. Some let the grandchild decide; others picked and stuck to what they wanted to be called. There isn’t a one of my daughters just called plain Grandmother like me. Judy Kimbrell is called Ju Ju, which we all chime in with from time to time for her. Deborah Fuson is called MeMe, which is what my children called their grandmothers. Kathy Hendrix is just called Kathy, and Lisa Cripps is called Granna. We are sure some of our readers are called Granny, Gigi, or Nana. Anyway it’s called; we think it is special to have the honor of being called Grandmother.

The warm weather is all the talk in the valley. All of my great-grandchildren played outside last Sunday. We have enjoyed a few outings during these warm days. It is exciting to realize spring is in the air.

Major Jerry Parker of Murfreesboro was the speaker at the Gideon Service, Wednesday night, at Dry Creek Baptist Church. He brought an inspiring message on the work of the Gideon and their purpose. Jerry shared several true testimonies of how lives have been saved from reaching out and a Gideon Bible being in the room to read. My late husband and I always used Gideon Bibles when we vacationed. Ryan Magness represented the DeKalb County Camp as a prayer partner. We appreciate these men and their faithfulness to the cause.

We have enjoyed the persimmon jam we received as a gift from Matilda Earl’s mother for Christmas this week. The persimmons grow much larger where she lives than our small ones here in the south. Matilda is off in Vermont deep sea fishing. We know she’s having a big adventure.

We send out love to our neighbor in Possum Hollow, Mrs. Nonnie Tramel who is still in NHC in Smithville. She is a sweet lady who is recovering from a recent stroke.

We say "Hello" to our friend Judd Murphy who lost his dear wife, Janis, recently. We taught school with her at Smithville Elementary and loved her and their sons. May God bless and keep them during their time of grief, and to her dear cousin, Sherry Bush.

We enjoyed reading Dr. Cripps’ life story in the Smithville Review. We enjoyed working with his children at school and reflecting on Watkins.

Our friend and neighbor, Pauline Frazier, continues to sell her wonderful turnip greens around the square on Saturdays.

Looking ahead at a few happening coming up at Dry Creek Baptist Church: April 14 Adults out to eat at the Golden Corral in Cookeville, April 15 Easter Sunday, and Kids Teams every Wednesday night at 6:15pm.

We send sympathy to the families of Joe Vickers, Aline Snyder, and Dena Haugh. We pray God’s love be ever present during these difficult days.

Proverbs 17:6

Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.
