The Alexandria Police Department has released their monthly report, revealing many arrests in October, including drug and DUI charges.
On October 12, 56-year-old James Wright of Church Street, Alexandria was charged with alteration of a serial number on a firearm.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Wright. As officers were speaking with Wright, they discovered a .32 caliber handgun where the serial number had been removed. His court date was set for November 2.
On October 19, 31-year-old Eric Judkins of Hendrixson Road, Smithville, was charged with driving on a suspended license.
Officers conducted a traffic stop where Eric was found to be the driver of the vehicle. A validation check of his license revealed it was suspended. His court date is December 14.
On October 20, 50-year-old Joseph Allen of Coon Branch Road, Alexandria, was charged with driving on revoked first offense and financial responsibility.
Officers stopped Allen’s vehicle for a traffic violation and it was found that his license was revoked for DUI second. His court date was set for November 9.
That same day, 43-year-old Valarian Smith of Osborne Lane, Murfreesboro, was charged with driving on a suspended license. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Smith and discovered that his license was suspended out of Rutherford County. His court date was set for December 14.
On October 27, officers of the Alexandria Police Department joined with other agencies in the middle Tennessee area to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Cumberland County. During the checkpoint there was a total of 273 cars checked with nine drivers administered field sobriety tests and one driver arrested for DUI. A total of 16 citations were issued during the event.
On October 28, 20-year-old Jonathan Guzman-Viel of Foster Road, Smithville, was charged with simple possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Alexandria officers were patrolling the area of Nashville Highway and stopped a black Dodge Ram for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the driver, the officer allegedly detected an odor of marijuana from the vehicle.
As the subjects exited the vehicle, Guzman-Viel, who was a passenger, admitted to smoking marijuana earlier. Search of the vehicle found several grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a 9mm handgun without any serial numbers. The court date was set for November 9.
The following day, 45-year-old Fancy Duffer of Lower Helton Road, Alexandria, was charged with DUI, simple possession of schedule IV, and drug paraphernalia.
Officers were called to a the areal of Lower Helton Road in reference to a traffic accident. The vehicle, driven by Duffer, had gone up the road and pulled into the driveway of a residence. As officers made contact with the driver, who was reported to have slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet as well as an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
She was then placed under arrest for DUI and a search incident to arrest located a small round pill believed to be a schedule IV drug and drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $5,000 and her court date was set for November 9.
Also arrested was 43-year-old Kyshanna Frazier of Lower Helton Road, Alexandria. She was charged with simple possession schedule III and tampering with evidence.
Frazier was a passenger of the vehicle, and as officers were speaking with her, she attempted to throw evidence off of her person into the bushes. Officers did recover a small container with 5.5 pills believed to be a schedule III drug. Her bond was set at $7,000 and court date set for November 9.
On November 1, 23-year-old Nicole Fultz of Page Drive, Smithville, was charged with possession of a schedule II drug for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a handgun during a felony.
Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Nashville Highway, and as they were speaking with the driver, he allegedly observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a small metal tin containing approximately 2.59 grams of a white powdery substance believe to be cocaine. Several items consistent with the use of cocaine were also located along with a Taurus 9mm handgun. Her bond was set at $41,.500 and her court date is November 16.
On November 7, 45-year-old Jamie Orrand of Shady Lane, Alexandria, was charged with failure to appear and evading arrest.
Officers observed Orrand on the square in Alexandria and advised him that they had a warrant for his arrest due to a failure to appear in court. He did not comply with officers’ commands and fled on foot. After a brief chase, officers were able to take him into custody. With bond set at $2300, he will appear in court on November 16.
Also on November 7, 45-year-old Lavar Bass of Shady Lane, Alexandria, was charged with public intoxication.
Officers had received several complaints regarding Bass acting suspicious and possibly impaired. Officers were able to make contact with him on West Main Street and as the officer was speaking with him, he was allegedly acting erratic and claiming he was being chased. He advised officers he had used narcotics earlier. Due to his behavior and the consideration of his safety and the safety of others he was taken into custody. His bond is $2500 and court was set for November 16.
