DCHS SGA had an amazing day on Capitol Hill hosted by Rep. Michael Hale! We witnessed Representative Hale present his first bill on the House floor, also a rare joint session in the house where we saw the vote on/and confirmation of two new members of the Supreme Court, and the vote and presentation of the state election commission. We met with our state senator Janice Bowling who spoke to the group and answered the students’ questions. Then, assisted by Rep. Hale’s legislative assistant, Jackson (Jax) Lelle, who served in Tennessee Tech’s SGA, we were guided through the tunnel to Rep. Hale’s office. We then visited the Tennessee State Museum and Farmer’s Market. Special thanks to our first class bus driver Shara Cowan!
