A man accused of stealing a Caney Fork Electric vehicle in 2019 has been found guilty of theft over $60,000.

Authorities say that on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Anderson, with his Attorney Mingy Ball, appeared before Judge Bray in criminal court for the charges. Anderson was found guilty of the theft by the jury, and a sentencing hearing was set for August 22.

On December 6, 2019, DeKalb County Central Dispatch alerted the Smithville Police Department of a reported stolen vehicle from Warren County being seen near Hardees restaurant in Smithville, and then at the carwash behind Dominos Pizza.

Officers made contact with the vehicle at the carwash and found David Anderson and a co-defendant in possession of a stolen 2017 F-350 Caney Fork truck, which had been taken from a residence on Dibrell Lucky Road on December 5 that year. Police say that miscellaneous tools were missing from the vehicle as well as there being damage to the truck.

After investigation Anderson and his co-defendant were later arrested and charged with Theft over $60,000.
