Arrests made for domestic violence, false reports

Sheriff's officers made several arrests over the past week, with crimes ranging from assault and lying to lawmen to drunk driving and theft.

Included in those arrested in DeKalb County this past week:

Garry Brandon Myers, 29, of Hillsboro was arrested for domestic assault. He was charged after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in the face with his fist.

Mark Denver Young, 37, was arrested for theft. Lawmen say he took a 22 ton Husky log splitter worth $600. Young reportedly admitted to taking the splitter when confronted by a sheriff’s detective.

Anthony Michael Cordaro, 42, was arrested for DUI and reckless endangerment. Cordaro was pulled over on suspicion of a burglary that happened in Warren County. He was taken into custody when he was pulled over on Seven Springs Road. The arresting officer found him to be intoxicated.

Kenny Waymon Dyal, 32, was arrested for filing a false report. He was charged as a deputy was looking for a wanted person where he lived. The deputy had seen the woman he was looking for in Dyal’s window and knocked on the door. Dyal claimed she wasn’t there but a search of the residence found her hiding in the shower.

Shawn Patrick Riley, 41, of Auburntown was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a handgun under the influence. A deputy responded to Snow Hill Road where there was a report of an intoxicated person at a business there. He was found to be under the influence. He had a Glock 9mm handgun on his person at the time.

Zachery Lane Bennett, 25, of Dowelltown was arrested for violation of bond conditions. He was charged when a deputy responded to Dry Creek Road and found him in the company of a female he had been banned from being with by court order.

Richard Allen Tilley, 48, was charged with aggravated burglary. His is accused of kicking open a door of a residence on Short Mountain Highway while the residents were at home. The victims said he started screaming and yelling at them once inside.

Peter Alexander Jensen, 33, of Sparta was charged with DUI and hit-and-run. Jensen was involved in a crash on Sparta Highway and left the scene. Jensen was caught near the county-line. Jensen appeared to be intoxicated at the time. 

Marcus Pergoy, 47, was cited on simple possession of drugs after three pills were found on him during a pat down. He was being taken into custody on an outstanding warrant out of Warren County when the deputy found the pills.
