Brinleigh Bain named Fair Princess

As the heat wave continued, so did pageants at the Lion’s Pavilion at the DeKalb County Fair. Wednesday night saw young ladies ages seven to 12 years-old vie for the titles of Miss Princess and Miss Sweetheart. Brinleigh Cole Bain was crowned Miss Princess while Katy Jo Bowen took the Miss Sweetheart title. A total of 21 young ladies competed in the two pageants.

In the first pageant of the evening, Brinleigh Cole Bain was crowned the new queen by her successor Kallen Avarie Curtis. Bain also won Most Photogenic. She is the seven-year-old daughter of Amber Bain of Smithville. Curtis is the nine-year-old daughter of Heather Page Rhoton and John Curtis of Smithville.

First runner-up went to Haddeigh Grace Harvey. She is the eight-year-old daughter of Chad and Kayla Harvey of Liberty.

Chloe Payton Myers was chosen as second runner-up. She is the nine-year-old daughter of Crystal Stibil of Smithville.

Miss Congeniality went to nine-year-old Payton Elizabeth Knowles, the nine-year-old daughter of Justin Knowles and Mary Knowles of Smithville.

Others called back in the top seven were Anna Marie Cripps, the nine-year-old daughter of Kevin and Liz Cripps from Alexandria; Ava Mae Puckett, the nine-year-old daughter of Jacob and Andrea Puckett of Smithville; Peyton Elizabeth Knowles, the nine-year-old daughter of Justin Knowles and Mary Knowles of Smithville; and Bonnie Myers

In the second pageant of the night, Katy Jo Bowen was crowned Miss Sweetheart. She is the daughter of the late Joseph Bowen and Cody and Kim Atnip of Liberty. She also claimed Most Photogenic. She was crowned by the 2024 Miss Sweetheart Queen Addison Paige Curtis. Curtis is the daughter of Heather Page Rhoton and John Curtis of Smithville.

Wrigley Jared was chosen as first runner-up. She is the 10-year-old daughter of Tim and Shelly Jared of Smithville. Jared was also awarded Miss Congeniality in the competition.

Second runner-up went to Katie Jo Prichard, the 10-year-old daughter of Luke and JoDee Prichard of Alexandria.

Others making the top six were Stella Grace Adcock, the 10-year-old daughter of Byron and Paige Adcock of Smithville; Serenity Rayne Foster, the 11-year-old daughter of Justin and Shea Foster of Dowelltown; Samara Briar Emberton, the 12-year-old daughter of Stene and Sara Emberton and Stephani Whitaker of Smithville.
