Tara Kay Campbell, 40, of Sparta was arrested on Dec. 3 on sealed indictment taken out on Oct. 29 at the special called session of the DeKalb County Grand Jury. She was arrested and charged with six counts of manufacture/sale/deliver of methamphetamine and four counts of violation of the drug free zone. Her bond was set at 75,000.

Jimmy Dwight Underhill, Jr, 50, of Smithville arrested on Dec.3 for aggravated assault. His bond was set at $10,000.

His arrested comes after a sheriff’s department responded to a domestic assault call on Rolling Acres Road in Smithville. A person at the residence said Underhill had been drinking, became confrontational and began choking him causing several abrasions. The following day, on Dec. 4, deputies responded to a call at the same location for an unwanted guest. Two people there said Underhill had come there after being released from jail. He was charged with violation of an order of protection. And his bond was set at $3,500.

 Gwendolyn Kay Sanford, 63, of Sparta was arrested for DUI first offense on Dec. 3. Her bond was set at $2,500.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said a deputy responded to a wreck less driver on Sparta Highway on Dec. 3. When the deputy made contact with the vehicle, it had turned onto Nikki Lane and was parked in the roadway. When speaking to the driver, Sanford, she seemed confused and unaware of the situation. She was also slow and forgetful. She allegedly told the deputy she had taken prescription medication earlier in the day. She performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. She consented to an implied consent, but a search warrant was obtained for a blood.

Jason Alexander Sturdivant, 33, of Smithville was arrested Dec. 4 and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. His bond was set at $5,000.

On Nov. 20, a sheriff’s detective received a report of a debit card fraud. A lady told the detective that her husband had passed away in September, and a card issued to him had been used several times since his death. The victim stated she believed Sturdivant had taken the card and used it without permission. An investigation found Sturdivant in possession of the card and had used it several times. Sturdivant admitted to using the bank card at several different location. Charges to the card totaled $2,339.57.

Matthew Edwin Riihimaa, 66, of Silver Point, was arrested on Dec. 5 for violation of order of protection. His bond was set at $2,500 bond.

A sheriff’s deputy went to a resident on Captain’s Point in DeKalb County to serve an order of protection on Riihimaa. A condition in the order of protection was that Riihimaa leave the residence. He refused to leave and was arrested.

Killian Blake Ellis, 26, of Alexandria was arrested Dec. 6 and charged with resisting/stop/hault/frisk/search/arrest. His bond was set at $5,000.

A deputy made contact with Ellis at the DeKalb Courthouse and knew there were two active violation of probation warrants for him out of DeKalb County. Ellis was told by the deputy to put his hands behind his back, but he refused. The deputy was forced to use necessary force to take him into custody.

Gary Hoyt Copley, 38, of Cookeville was arrested for assault on Dec. 6. His bond was set at $3,500.

On Nov. 30 Copley assaulted another inmate by hitting him in the head multiple times. This was captured on video at the jail.

Lisa Inez Vice, 55, of Smithville was arrested for DUI first offense on Dec. 7. Her bond was set at $2,500.

Her arrest comes after a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver was Vice. The deputy noticed a strong odor of alcohol, and she did admit to having had one beer. She consented to and done poorly on field sobriety tasks. She was also written a citation for driving on roadway lane for travel.

Collin Lynn Patterson, 30, of Smithville was arrested for DUI on Dec. 8. His bond was set at $2,500.

Deputies received a call about a truck failing to maintain its lane of travel. The deputy spotted the truck and witnessed it cross the center yellow and outside white lines.  When a stop was conducted, Patterson had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech and glassy eyes. He consented to and performed poorly on field sobriety task. He agreed to implied consent, but a search warrant was also obtained. He was also written a citation for driving on roadway lanes for travel.

Joseph Harvey Clark, 36, of Smithville was arrested for domestic assault on Dec. His bond was set at $4,500.

Clark allegedly pushed the victim down and hit her with a door multiple times at a residence they share.
