Two people were involved in a scary crash last week outside the local Walmart. Despite one vehicle overturning, authorities say that no one was injured in the crash.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Bobby Johnson, on Tuesday, November 30, at approximately 7:03 PM, 32-year-old Christopher Price of Smithville was traveling west on West Broad Street (Highway 70) in a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser. At the same time, 52-year-old Scott Odom of Sparta, TN, was traveling east in a 2018 Buick SUV.
As the two vehicles approached the intersection with the entrance to Walmart, Price attempted to make a left turn into the Walmart parking lot, turning directly into the path of Odom.
The two vehicles collided causing the Toyota to overturn onto its left side. The Buick spun around and came to a final rest facing west in the eastbound lanes of travel.
Neither driver suffered any injuries from the crash. The crash was investigated by Trooper Johnson, while Lt. Dewaine Jennings and Lt. Charlie Caplinger assisted.
