Tierra Burton, 29, of Smithville was traveling North bound on Short Mountain Highway Tuesday mid-morning when she failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road, struck a fence, road sign and large tree head on. Pieces of the vehicle littered the adjoining property including the car’s motor. She was transported by helicopter ambulance to Skyline Medical Center.
