Case Against THP Officer Dismissed
Case dismissed

Several people made an appearance in court last week, including a THP officer who had the case against him dismissed. A criminal summons had been issued against 36-year-old Jeremy Sean Tramel of Smithville charging him with assault in an alleged off-duty incident.

In General Sessions Court last Thursday, the case was dismissed and an order under which all public records relating to the offense are to be expunged. Tramel was represented by attorney Bratten Cook, II.

In a prepared statement Tramel said, “the allegation made against me resulting in an assault charge was groundless and not based on facts or sound evidence. Therefore, on January 11, 2024 the assault charge against me was unfounded and dismissed with an expungement.”

In criminal court news, the convicted felon who led sheriff’s department deputies on a chase into two other counties before being forced off the road was in court on Tuesday, January 9.

Warren Brandon Glasby, 40, pled guilty to possession of a schedule II drug (methamphetamine) over .5 grams, and possession of a schedule II drug (ANPP) for sale. He was given an 8-year sentence in the meth case and three years on the other charge to run concurrently with each other and with a Wilson County TDOC. He must serve at least 30 percent before he is eligible for release. He was also fined $2,000 and given 273 days jail credit.

Ashley Mingle, 31, pled guilty to theft over $1,000 and received a two year sentence all suspended to probation. She was given jail credit of six days.
