Several people were sentenced in DeKalb Criminal Court last week, including a man who sexually battered an 11-year-old child five years ago. The offense occurred on July 20, 2018.
Rogelio Rivera Palomo, 50, a non-US citizen, pled guilty to one count of sexual battery, and received a five-year sentence to serve at 45 percent before becoming eligible for parole. He was given jail credit from June 20, 2023 to November 7, 2023.
In other criminal court news, 41-year-old Bradley Redmon pleaded guilty to six counts of burglary, all suspended to supervised probation. Two counts occurred on February 9, 2023, three counts on March 11, 2023, and one count happened on March 21, 2023. He was given 152 days of jail credit.
Billy Qualls, 37, pleaded guilty to DUI first offense for an incident that occurred on June 11, 2022. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days, all suspended except for 48 hours to serve. He is under supervised probation for 11/29, will lose his driver’s license for one year, and must pay a $350 fine. He also must complete an Alcohol Safety Education program and attend the MADD Victim Impact panel.
Melissa Anne Farley, 42, entered a guilty plea to one count of sale of a schedule II drug, meth, over .5 grams, for a charge that happened on June 21, 2021. She was sentenced to eight years all suspended to TDOC probation and a $2,000 fine. She received 95 days jail credit and must pay $100 restitution to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
Kaleb Gabriel Rose, 18, pleaded guilty to filing a false report for an incident that occurred on September 14, 2023. He received three years, all suspended to supervised probation, and is requesting judicial diversion. He received 42 days jail credit.
