Christmas on the Square

Smithville, Liberty, and Alexandria have announced their scheduled dates for their local Christmas celebrations and parades.

The Smithville Christmas Parade and Christmas on the Square will be celebrated together on Saturday, December 4. The Smithville Parade begins at 4:00 p.m., with the line-up beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the New Life Connection Center, at 750 South Congress Boulevard in Smithville.

The parade route will leave from New Life Connection Center onto South Congress Boulevard to the Downtown Smithville Square. Immediately after the Smithville Parade, Christmas on the Square will begin around 5:00 p.m.

The Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce wants to invite everyone to stay after the parade with many fun activities happening in downtown including at the Smithville City Hall, DeKalb County Courthouse, Justin Potter Library, and a “Live” Windows Contest at Downtown Businesses.

The Liberty Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, December 5, at 2:00 p.m., with lineup set at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church. Categories for the event will be floats, kids, small animals, antique vehicles and tractors.

The Town of Alexandria will also hold its Christmas Parade on December 5, at 5:00 p.m. with giveaways immediately following the parade. Participant forms are located on the town’s website at townofalexandria.us.
