A burglar with a habit of breaking into churches has been sentenced to two years in jail for his most recent intrusion into a house of worship.
The man, Isaiah Sutherland, 21, entered a guilty plea before Judge Gary McKenzie recently to the charge of burglary. He was sentenced to two years in prison and was warned to stay away from the victimized church, West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria.
Sutherland broke into the Alexandria Church this past June. Lawmen say the only think he stole was a soda but he caused damage when he forced his way into the church.
Alexandria police arrested him the day after the burglary, noting he had broken into the same church back in 2015, his method of operation making him the prime suspect in the most recent break-in.
