The Trial Court Judges of the Thirteenth Judicial District have elected Circuit Court Judge Caroline E. Knight to serve as Presiding Judge, effective September 1, 2024. Under Tennessee law, each judicial district is required to elect a presiding judge annually. The Thirteenth Judicial District is comprised of Putnam, Cumberland, White, DeKalb, Overton, Pickett and Clay Counties and is served by two Circuit Courts, one Chancery Court, and three Criminal Courts. Judge Knight succeeds Criminal Court Judge Wesley Bray who served in the role for the past year.
"I am honored to be chosen by my colleagues and am grateful to serve in this capacity,” said Knight.
Circuit Court Judge William T. Ridley will serve as Presiding Judge Pro Tempore for the year.
