The Caney Fork Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognizes one outstanding high school senior each year as a student who demonstrates the qualities of good citizenship, dependability, community service, leadership and patriotism.

We are happy to announce that the Good Citizen at DeKalb County High School in the Class of 2024 is Samuel Gaspar Guzman.  He is involved in the Science, Spanish, Service Society and Skills Clubs at DCHS.  Since he speaks fluent Spanish and English, Samuel serves as a translator for Spanish Speaking transfer students and their families at the school.

After graduation, he plans to attend Tennessee College of Applied Technology and earn his certification in automotive technology and if time permits, building construction technology.  Thank you, Samuel, for your service to DeKalb County High School and Congratulations on the Good Citizen’s Award!
