A Warren County woman had a close call last week after a temporary distraction led to her vehicle plunging into a local creek.
According to Smithville Police Sergeant Will Judkins, on Wednesday, January 19, 30-year-old Kyshnavi Somisetty was traveling east on Highway 70 (West Broad Street) in a 2019 Nissan Altima, when she looked down to pick an item up inside her vehicle. The car went off the side of the roadway and plunged into the creek near Patty’s Restaurant.
Smithville Police, the Smithville Fire Department, and DeKalb EMS responded to the scene. Somisetty was checked at the scene by EMS, but otherwise refused treatment. She reportedly walked away from the crash uninjured.
