This is a message from DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray.

Today, March 11, 2023, Officers from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department along with other Law Enforcement and Search and Rescue Agencies will be conducting a controlled ground and air search on Hurricane Ridge Road in Smithville.

The search area is from Highway 70 (Nashville Highway) to the 1000 block of Hurricane Ridge Road.

If you live or travel within the search area, please be cautious. There will be multiple people and vehicles in the search area.  The search will be conducted from 7:00 am to approximately 5:30 pm.

If you do not live or need to travel on Hurricane Ridge Road, for safety concerns, I ask you to avoid the area during the posted search time.
