Two vehicles were involved in a scary crash last week, but with no major injuries. The crash occurred at 7:30 am, on Thursday, September 29, at the intersection of Anthony Avenue and West Broad Street.

According to Trooper Dylan Palmer of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Severin Mathias Anderson of Smithville was traveling eastbound on West Broad Street in Smithville in a 2020 Nissan Armada, along with a four-year-old and a six-year-old juvenile passenger.

At the same time, a 2013 Nissan Rogue was being driven northbound on Anthony Avenue by a 16-year-old female juvenile driver.

As the juvenile driver attempted to make a left hand turn onto West Broad Street, it was T-boned by Anderson’s vehicle. Authorities say that the juvenile driver failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, causing the crash.

Anderson was transported to Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital with only minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
