Criminal Court Handing Down Sentences

With the COVID pandemic shutting down the court system over the past year, the court system is playing catchup, hearing cases from a year to two years ago. Several people pled guilty to their charges and were sentenced last week.

On July 19, 2021, 26-year-old Dustin Edward Kidd was charged with possession of a schedule II drug methamphetamine over .5 grams with intent to sale or deliver. Kidd pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to eight years all suspended to probation, with a $2,000 fine plus court costs.

Justin Matthew Cripps, 33, was charged with vandalism under $1,000 for a June 29, 2021 incident. He pled guilty and was sentenced to all suspended probation.

On July 2, 2020, Ismael Vicente Viel was charged with DUI first offense. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days all suspended, and 48 hours in DUI

Eric Lane Petty, 26, faced several charges from a February 1, 2021 incident. His charges were forgery, theft up to $1,000, and aggravated burglary. He pled guilty to one count of forgery and received one year suspended, two counts of misdemeanor theft and received 11/29 suspended, and one count of aggravated burglary, receiving three years all suspended except six months to serve.

Glen Ray Jones, 47, was facing two counts of sale of a schedule II drug methamphetamine less than .5 grams, and two counts of delivery of a scheduled II drug methamphetamine less than .5 grams. The charges were from June and July 2019. He pled guilty to one count of each charge and received four years suspended to supervised probation and a $2,000 fine.

Between June 20 and June 25, 2019, 55-year-old Teresa Darlene Mayo was charged with two counts of sale of a schedule II drug methamphetamine greater than .5 grams, and two counts of delivery of a scheduled II drug methamphetamine greater than .5 grams. She pled guilty to one count of each charge, and was sentenced to eight years suspended to supervised probation, and a $2,000 fine plus court costs.

On January 24, 2019, 52-year-old Christopher Todd Storie was charged with DUI first offense. He pled guilty and received 11 months, 29 days, suspended to serve 48 hours, loss of his driver’s license for one year, and a $350 fine. He is to serve at the DUI center in Cookeville.

On May 23, 2019, 41-year-old Mark William Green was charged with possession of a scheduled II drug with intent to resale. He pled guilty to attempt to deliver and was sentenced to four years suspended to probation, and a $2,000 fine plus costs.

On July 28, 2020, 35-year-old Christopher Elliot Bradshaw was charged with burglary, theft over $1,000, and vandalism. He pled guilty to the burglary and theft charges and received four years to serve 30 percent consecutively.

Samantha Bee Florida, 38, faced two aggravated burglary charges and a theft over $2,500 charge, from an incident on May 29, 2020. She pled guilty to one burglary charge and was sentenced to six years, with the other charges dismissed.

Caroline Rose Guffy, 28, was charged with reckless endangerment on May 25, 2020. She pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 11/29 suspended with probation.

On August 12, 2019, 59-year-old William Doyle Flarity was charged with DUI second offense. He pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 45 days to serve at the DUI Center in Cookeville, balance on probation, loss of license for two years, a $600 fine, and restricted license.
