Reunion, September 30
The DeKalb County High School Class of 1978 will hold its 45- year reunion Saturday, September 30th, at 5 p.m., at Twisted Oaks in the outside courtyard. In case of inclement weather, the reunion will be moved inside. This event will be dutch treat, order your preference from the menu and pay for your own. Diabetes Workshop, Sept. 26 –Oct. 31

Sparle & Shine Gala
The Gala will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at The Nest, 105 North 4th St. Smithville, TN 37166. The event is semi-formal to formal attire. The cost is $50 per person ages 16 and up. Are you a veteran in need of assistance? DeKalb County has a Veteran's Service Officer ready to help you, not only with filing claims, but for conversations about your service.
Retired military service officer Bill Rutherford is located on the first floor of the DeKalb County Courthouse and is ready to offer assistance. He is available for in-office visits each Tuesday and Thursday or can be reached by telephone at any time at 615-560-3610. DeKalb County appreciates the service of all veterans and is proud to provide this service.

Free Exercise Class for 50 & older
Ae you 50 and older and want to increase, flexibility and balance? The UT/TSU Extension office in DeKalb County will be holding free light weight strength training classes for 8 weeks starting Tuesday, September 19, from 9-10 a.m. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the County Complex Building. Fall Fest Pageants seek entrants
The annual Fall Fest Pageants, ages birth to 48 months for boys and girls and age four to 18 year old (must not be out of school), will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the DeKalb County Complex Auditorium. The first pageant will begin at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $25 with optional categories available including People’s Choice. Deadline to enter is October 27, 2023. Applications are available at the Smithville Review and on the event’s Facebook.
Commodity Distribution, Oct. 26
The Upper Cumberland Human Resources Agency will hold a commodities distributuion for DeKalb county on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the DeKalb County UCHRA Office. Sign-up available at the distribution site.
American Legion & Ladies’ Auxillary, Sept. 21
The American Legion and Ladies Auxillary will meet on Thursday night, September 21, 2023 for its monthly meeting. They will meet at 6 p.m. for a meal before the meeting. A meal of Hamburgers and hot dogs will be enjoyed by all. All members and their spouses are welcome.
DeKalb County Library Board meeting Sept, 26
The DeKalb Library Board will hold its regular bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 4 p.m. at Justin Potter Library. Materials selections/Collection Development Policy Revisions and Discussion of Computer and Internet Policy will be discussed at this meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
