

















On February 16, 66-year-old Jimmy Ray Driver of Allen Street, Smithville, was arrested for violation of bond conditions. He is under a $3,500 bond and he will be in court March 3.
According to DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy responded to Shady Drive to speak to a woman who reported that she was being harassed over the phone. As the officer was talking to the woman, she received a phone call from Driver. The deputy then contacted central dispatch and confirmed that Driver was under no contact bond condition with the woman. He was later placed under arrest.
The following day, 42-year-old Allen Dean Dolberry of West Greenhill Road, McMinnville, was charged with domestic assault. He is under a $3,500 bond and will be in court on March 3.
Sheriff Ray said a deputy responded to Cedar Drive, Smithville, on a report of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim who stated that he was arguing with his father, Dolberry, when the argument became physical. Dolberry allegedly struck the victim in the face resulting in a broken nose.
On February 18, 47-year-old Micah Daniel Murphy of Adams Street, Smithville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a no passing zone, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, driving while revoked, and simple possession of a schedule VI drug (marijuana). He is under a $28,000 bond and will be in court March 3.
A DeKalb detective was patrolling on Bright Hill Road when he noticed a black Chevy Monte Carlo pass a car and trash truck on a double yellow line nearly causing an accident. The detective initiate his blue lights and siren, but the car sped off at a high rate of speed.
The car then turned onto Dearman Street and into a driveway, and kept traveling at a high rate of speed before sliding to a stop at the end of the driveway. Authorities say the driver kept moving around inside the vehicle, attempting to get out. As he attempted to exit the vehicle, Murphy allegedly dropped something, then picked it up and swallowed it.
Authorities later learned that Murphy’s license is revoked for a prior DUI offense. He later admitted that he had swallowed a controlled substance. After the car was towed an inventory search was conducted, a baggie with the corner ripped off was found in the driver’s seat containing a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, and a cut straw.
That same day, 37-year-old Jay Lee Mullican of Johnson Chapel Road, Sparta, was charged with domestic assault and possession of methamphetamine manufacture, sell, deliver or possess. He has a $13,500 total bond and will be in court on March 3.
Sheriff Ray said that deputies responded to Sparta Highway for a report of a physical domestic. Upon arrival, contact was made with a woman hiding in her car. Authorities say the woman was bleeding from her mouth, and she reported that she and Mullican had been in a physical altercation. Mullican allegedly then left on foot after he broke her car window, dragged her back into the house, and punched her in the face.
Mullican was found walking on Midway Road across from this residence. While being placed in custody, Mullican was found to have a syringe and baggie containing a clear rock substance that weighed one gram believed to be methamphetamine.
On February 20, 52-year-old Billy Eugene Cook of Floyd Drive, Smithville was charged with aggravated burglary. He is under a $20,000 bond and will be in court March 10.
A deputy responded to Mountain View Drive, Smithville, for a break-in in progress. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Cook inside the home. The homeowner confirmed that Cook did not have permission to be at the residence.
That same day, 26-year-old Tyler Blake Hollingsworth of Meadowbrook Drive, Smithville, was charged with possession and delivery of a schedule I drug. He is under a $25,000 bond and is due in court on March 10.
Hollingsworth was found to have in his possession 3.34 grams of a white powdery substance believe to be heroin. A deputy received a call from an off-duty officer stating that a subject was sitting a newer model white Chevy Impala at the Food Lion parking lot and appeared to be weighing out drugs in the vehicle.
The deputy pulled up behind the vehicle and found Hollingsworth putting what appeared to be digital scales and baggies on the floorboard between his legs. White powder was on his shirt. Hollingsworth reportedly admitted that the substance was heroin.
On February 22, 27-year-old Callie Marie Donna Combs of East Circle Drive, Liberty, was arrested for driving under the influence first offense. She is under a $1,500 bond and is due in court on March 17.
A deputy found Combs involved in a motor vehicle crash. Upon speaking with the woman, authorities say she was drowsy and speaking slowly. Combs was given standardized field sobriety tasks which she performed poorly.
The next day, 45-year-old Robin Lee Lawson of Corinth Church Road, Rock Island, was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant. He is under a $60,000 bond and he is due in court on March 3.
Sheriff Ray said that a deputy received a call on Corinth Church Road in DeKalb County and made contact with Lawson. A driver’s license check revealed the man had active warrants out of Desoto County, Florida, for drug related charges. Florida is proceeding with extradition.
On February 23, 27-year-old James Dillan Matthews of Page Drive, Smithville, was arrested for theft of property from $2,500-$10,000, under a sealed indictment. His bond is set at $25,000, and he is due in court on March 1. The sealed indictment was issued on December 7, 2021, for a theft that occurred on October 1, 2020.
That same day, 25-year-old Brianna Lea Phillips of Brickham Lane, Morrison, was also arrested for a sealed indictment, for two counts of methamphetamine manufacture sale deliver or possess. Her court date is set for March 1, and she is under a $75,000 bond.
On February 25, 32-year-old Joshua Hayden Stubblefield of Obie-Adcock Road, Smithville, was arrested for burglary and theft of property. He is under a $85,000 bond and is due in court on March 17. Authorities allege that Stubblefield broke into a vehicle and stole a 2000 Toyota Solara.
On February 27, 22-year-old Jessie Glenn Ferrell of Walker Drive, Smithville, was arrested for public intoxication. He is under a $1,500 bond and is due in court on March 17.
A deputy responded to Tabernacle Road for a call of an unwanted guest. Ferrell was found walking on Tabernacle Road, and was unsteady on his feet. He was also unable to answer simple questions. For his safety and that of others, he was placed in custody.
Also that day, 37-year-old John Bryan Pedigo of Lee Homer Road, Smithville, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. He is under a $1,000 bond and he is due in court on March 17.
A deputy observed Pedigo operating a green Dodge Ram 1500 truck on West Broad Street in Smithville. A traffic stop was made, as the deputy had prior knowledge that Pedigo did not have a valid driver’s license. He had been cited on February 14 at the sheriff’s department for the same offense.
