DESA planning to deliver Thanksgiving meals
DESA
Last year the DeKalb Emergency Services association delivered almost 500 meals to residents throughout DeKalb County.

The holidays are quickly approaching, and the DeKalb Emergency Services’ Association is already preparing to deliver hundreds of Thanksgiving dinners to DeKalb County residents.

The DESA an unincorporated nonprofit association is made up of personnel with any DeKalb County emergency service agency (fire, law enforcement, rescue, 911 dispatchers, emergency medical services, and emergency management), along with citizen who support the mission of public safety. The deliver hundreds of meals, at the holidays, to the elderly, shut-ins and those in need.

Last year the many selfless volunteers spent hours preparing turkeys, dressing and all the fixings. They put together boxed meals then hit the streets distributing around 475 boxes all throughout the county. The recipients receiving the delicious Thanksgiving foods may have been without if DESA had not have stepped in.

If you or someone you know would like to donate to DESA or have your name added to the list to receive a boxed lunch, please contact Brandi at 615-712-4286 or Teresa at 615-597-7411 before the cutoff date of November 20, 2019.
