A two-day undercover police operation has led to the arrests of 17 men on human trafficking charges, including a Dowelltown man.

According to WKRN News in Nashville, the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit arrested the men after they agreed to pay for sex with a 16-year-old girl, who was in actuality an undercover police officer.

The men allegedly arrived at a hotel near Donelson Pike and Royal Parkway in response to an Internet ad placed by the unit. The suspects were then arrested after going into a room and exchanging money as payment for sex. One of the men, 26-year-old Joshua Haines, is a Dowelltown resident.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security also assisted Metro police during the operation Thursday and Friday. The following suspects were each charged with trafficking for a commercial sex act.
