Amanda Alice Atnip, 35, of Liberty was arrested March 22 and charge with two drug charges. On March 22, 2021 when a deputy arrested Atnip on a Failure to Appear, she was found to be in possession of a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine. The weight of the substance is believed to be greater than .5 grams. She was also found in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be heroine. The weight is greater than .5 grams. She also received a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia after a black bag was found containing needles and spoons with residue on them. Her total bond was set at $20,000, and she is to appear in court March 22.

David Dewayne Anderson, 51, of Liberty was arrested on March 23 and charged with possession of schedule III drug, Suboxone, schedule I drug, heroine and methamphetamine mfg/sell/poss/distribute.  Sheriff Department detectives were patrolling and noticed a black Ford Escape leaving a known drug location. The tag on the vehicle did not match, coming back to a red Nissan. A traffic stop was initiated and the front seat passenger, Anderson, stated the vehicle was his. A check of his license revealed he had active warrants for violation of probation in DeKalb County. One of the detectives searched Anderson and found three baggies of a substance believed to be heroine, weighing a total of 1.67 grams, one baggy of a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine weighing .52 grams and one baggie with an orange pill believe to be Suboxone. There were 17 additional baggies, two digital scales, residue, a glass pipe, needles and other drug paraphernalia. He did possess the narcotics with the intent to sell or distribute. His total bond was set at $35,000.

Jennifer Mable Benoir, 32, of Smithville was arrested for public intoxication on March 24 after a deputy responded to a location on Smithville Highway where a female was reported to be in the law screaming and attempting to open the door of the residence while naked. The deputy made contact with Benoir sitting on the porch with some of her clothes back with the remainder laying on the front lawn. She was unable to advise how she got to the residence and insisted it was her residence. However, it belonged to someone else who said she did not know Benoir. Benoir admitted to having smoked marijuana and drinking alcohol but could not remember anything else.

Allan Robert Lester of Smithville, 32, was arrested March 26 and charged with drug possession.  He was found with two baggies, one containing a crystal substance and one containing white residue all believed to be methamphetamine. He was also found in possession of two whole bars and five partial bars of Alprazolam. He does not have a prescription for this medication.
