Bring your old prescriptions by Smithville City Hall on October 24 to the drive-in drop-off to be held by the DeKalb Prevention Coalition so they may be properly disposed of.
The take-back event will be located under a tent on Oct. 24 from 10am-2pm.
Too often unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. This can be a dangerous and often tragic situation.
This year, due to COVID-19, the take-back event will be a little different. Instead of walking up with the old prescriptions, there will be a drive-by drop-off. You are asked to drive to the front of Smithville City Hall where a member of the DeKalb Prevention Coalition will gather your medications in a collection box.
DPC will also provide anyone with a home medication box to lock your medication in at home. They will not be able to accept liquid medication, needles or sharps. They can collect medication in pill and patch form. For more information please email DeKalb Prevention Coalition at dekalbtnprevention@gmail.com or call 615-580-9290
