Enos from the Dukes of Hazzard is coming to Smithville this Saturday.

Don’t call him “Dip Stick” when you meet him like his boss Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane often did during their time on the Dukes of Hazzard. Loveable Deputy Enos Strate is coming to Smithville this week, a special guest at the second annual New Life Fall Fest at New Life Connection Center on South Congress on Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Enos, real name Sonny Shroyer, will be on hand along with fellow Dukes of Hazzard star Chris Hensel who played Jeb Stuart Duke. Hensel played the Duke boys’ cousin in an episode where he assists them in finding a priceless sword.

Their visit will begin with a parade from the high school to New Life Connection Center. The pair will then be available to meet and greet and autographs. Their appearance will be in addition to a day of fun which will include a car show and numerous vendors. There will also be a kids’ area with games and other activities. There will also be music and concessions as well as up close looks at emergency vehicles and a medical helicopter.

Enos Strate was a character in the popular Dukes of Hazzard show that ran from 1979 to 1985, shooting 147 episodes that continue to show in syndication. Shroyer played the loveable deputy who was friends with the title characters, Bo and Luke Duke. He was often forced by his boss, Sheriff Coltrane to pursue and arrest the Dukes. Enos is also known for his crush on Daisy Duke who he twice almost marries on the series and later reunion show.
