An escapee who has been on the lamb for over a year has been collard in Florida and sent back to his former accommodations at DeKalb County Jail.

The escapee, Daniel Trey Hamilton, 27, will appear for arraignment Dec. 11 to answer to the charge of felony escape. He has been extradited back from Ft. Myers, Fla., where he was arrested recently.

Hamilton absconded from the local lock up along with Bryon Ray Gibbs and Jack Mullican Jr., in November 2017. Gibbs was recaptured in short order as he was taken into custody in Alexandria by lawmen and citizens there.

Mullican was found hiding in a storm drain near Mapco in Smithville and returned to custody a short time later.

The men broke out by picking the lock of the jail annex door. Mullican and Gibbs both got two years added on to their sentences for the escape, something Hamilton may also have coming in his future.
