Help repairing your home

DeKalb County has secured a $500,000 HOME program grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) to help local families with home repairs.  Informational meetings will be held at the following locations to learn more about the application procedures and grant guidelines.

April 19: Smithville- Community Complex in the Auditorium

April 26: Austin Bottom- Austin Bottom Fire Hall

May 3: Keltonburg- Community Center

All meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing during these events.

 

 

UCDD

UCDD offers relative caregiver, housing assistance. Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll-free at 1-877-275-8233.  A support group meeting will be held for relatives that are caring for relative children during the month of March 2021. Please contact Melissa Allison at 931-476-4127. For housing assistance contact Myra Walker at 931-432-4111.

 

Meeting, April 15

The American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary will have a meeting this Thursday, April 15 at 6 p.m. at the Legion Building at Snow Hill. There will be a meal of hamburgers and hot dogs before the meeting. All members need to be present election of officers will take place. Anyone coming needs to bring a compatible dish and /or dessert.

 

 

Food Giveaway, April 18

Snow Hill Baptist Church will give food away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 1:30. Please enter in the East driveway of the Church and drive around. Someone will put the food in your car. Please stay in your car. No restrooms will be available. Everyone is welcome. Todd Pack is the Pastor.

 

Jefferson Cemetery, May 2

Will have its decoration on May 2, 2021. There will be no business meeting and lunch because of Covid 19.  Donations for the mowing of the cemetery may be mailed to: Woody Adcock, 1283 Jefferson Road, Smithville, TN 37166.

 

UCHRA

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency will hold a commodities distribution for DeKalb County on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the DeKalb County UCHRA office. Sign up will be available at the distribution site.
