Monday thru Thursday, Jeanie Cawthorn has lap swims at the pool from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Special needs in the pool will be held on Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Gentle Joints will be held Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Shallow water exercise will be held Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. these classes cost $1 to participate. Regular pool hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and Sunday hours are 1p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $2 to enter the pool.
Bonham Cemetery Decoration Day, June 13
Decoration Day for Bonham Cemetery will be Sunday, June 13, 2021donations will be accepted from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. you can also make donations at First Bank in Smithville. Donations are needed for cemetery upkeep.
Mount Holly Decoration Day, June 13
Decoration Day at Mount Holly Cemetery will be June 13, 2021. The Mount Holly Cemetery Association will meet in regular business meeting on June 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the cemetery. Donation to the cemetery may be mailed to: Darlene Evans at 1820 Students Home Rd., Smithville, TN 37166 or given at the cemetery on June 13.
New Home Baptist Church VBS, June 16
New Home Baptist Church will be having VBS June 16-18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the 19th will be Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Libraries Reading Program, till June 24
The Justin Potter and Alexandria Libraries Summer Reading Program will begin on June 3rd and end on June 24th. All events for both libraries will be in the DeKalb County Complex Theatre Room at 2:00 pm. Children of all ages can begin registering for Summer Reading at both libraries on May 24th.
Each child that registers and meets their goal will receive a participation certificate and other goodies at the end of the Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales”. In order to insure the well-being of the families attending and the library staff masks and social distancing will be required.

2021 Nate Strong Car Show, June 19
Nate Strong Benefit car show will be held on June 19, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration till 12 p.m. and awards at 2 p.m. This will be at New Life Connection Center parking lot, 738 S. Congress Boulevard, Smithville, Tennessee 37166. Awards for Nate’s Pick, People’s Choice Best of Show, and Top 10. Registration is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint on June 11, 2021 on State Route 70 in DeKalb County.
DeKalb 4H, June 14
Presents “The 4-H Traveling Road Show”. Monday, June 14 at Green Brook Park. Cost is $25 and includes lunch, snack, and shirt for tie-dye. Anyone currently in 4th-7th grade is welcome to attend.
