A 30 year-old Cookeville woman, who had a cavity filled with a variety of drugs, had to be taken to the ER to have the contraband retrieved by physicians after jailers learned she was packing. Natalie Gail Barrett, 30, is under a $167,500 bond with a court date of December 15, 2022.
On November 28, jail staff were conducting a cell search on the female pond, including a strip search, when Barrett stated that she had drugs on her person and that she would give them to the correctional officers. Unable to retrieve the contraband, she was transported to the ER where physicians were able to remove the drugs. Retrieved was a brown powdery substance believed to be heroin, 18 grams of a leafy substance believed to be marijuana, 20 grams of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, and one full and two half white pills believed to be Fentanyl. Her charges include contraband into a penal institution, mfg/sell/deliver methamphetamine and three counts of a controlled substance for sale/delivery.
Meanwhile, another woman led deputies on a pursuit which went into Wilson County before coming to an end. Megan Leigh Wilson, 28 years old of Goodlettsville has been arrested and charged with evading arrest, theft of property, reckless endangerment and driving on revoked/suspended license. Her total bond adds to $36,000, and she, too, is to appear in court December. 15, 2022.
The story began when a Sheriff’s deputy was responding to a possible stolen Toyota Avalon painted black on Hall Road. While on the way there, the deputy spotted the vehicle on Lower Helton Road in Alexandria. When the tags were run, the vehicle came back stolen out of Lebanon. Wilson refused to stop when the deputy initiated blue lights, and continued to flee into Wilson County where she almost hit several vehicles as she drove on the wrong side of the road. The Wilson County Sheriff Department and Gordonsville Police Department assisted in the pursuit where spike strips were put in her path. She ran through several fences then jumped out of the car and fled on foot before being caught. Wilson told deputies that she knew some department had a “no-pursuit” law, and that is why she refused to stop.
Randall Christopher Evans, 34, of Smithville was arrested and charged with as a fugitive of justice. He is under a $75,000 bond, and he is also to appear in court December 15, 2022. Simpson County, Kentucky placed a hold on Evans and will extradite him for outstanding charges they have on him.
George Edward Taylor, 47, of Liberty was arrested on December 1, 2022 and charged with driving on revoked. A deputy, who had given Taylor a citation just weeks before, saw him again driving and pulled him over. His bond was set at $3,500, and he will appear in court December 15, 2022.
